Parts of Ohio may be at risk for flooding this weekend. If you have structures in areas know to flood best practice is to have a system and resources in place to mitigate the hazards.
A non-exhaustive list of flood mitigation best practices include:
* Having a system in please to periodically check structures known to or may flood
* Have materials in place to mitigate hazards as they arise:
* Make sure all exterior drains are clear and draining correctly
* Preplace
* Sand or other bulk materials
* Sandbags
* Plywood of sufficient strength to hold back water
* Other diking materials
* Pumps/hoses
* Personal to utilize the above
These are just the very basic materials and systems to utilize when potential flooding may occur.
For a much deeper dive into flood prevention and mitigation please see the attached materials.
