Hello, The Fairfield County Board of Elections is experiencing difficulty with getting enough poll workers to properly staff the elections.In an effort to find a solution to this problem, the Commissioners are evaluating the option of providing County employees with paid leave in order to be an election worker. The employees would get paid leave in addition to any amount that the Board of Elections pays their election workers. Section 3501.28 of the Ohio Revised Code allows a Board of County Commissioners to pass a resolution setting forth the terms and conditions for leave with pay for an employee who serves as an election worker. Has any other County passed a resolution that would permit leave with pay for employees serving as election workers? If so, would you mind sharing your resolution and policy?
