Pam, I hope you had a good weekend and thank you for asking about the policy manual. We just finalized the updated policy manual, posted it to our website at the end of last week, and are in the process of drafting a cover letter to members regarding updates. Below is the updated Lactation Breaks and Pregnancy Accommodations policy with an explanation of the changes. Please let us know if you need anything further. Thanks, Frank regarding the CORSA BPPM policy as it relates to the PUMP Act and PWF Act. For the most part, the CORSA BPPM lactation policy was already in compliance with much of the PUMP Act, but in the updated BPPM to be released shortly, a line will be added related to shielding from teleworking video systems (computer cameras, security cameras, web conferencing platforms, etc.) as the Act now dictates. An additional line will also be added in response to the PWF Act. The PWF requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations to a worker's known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an "undue hardship." As such, language was added to ensure compliance. The highlighted language is the new language to be added. LACTATION BREAKS AND PREGNANCY ACCOMODATIONS Employees who have recently given birth will be allowed a reasonable break time in order to nurse or express breast milk, for up to one year after the child's birth. The employee will be provided appropriate space, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from other employees, teleworking video systems, and members of the public. Lactation breaks under this policy should, to the extent possible, run concurrently with any other break time available to the employee. Employees who request reasonable accommodations for known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions will be provided accommodations that do not cause undue hardship to the employer.
