Medina County reimburses mileage at 8.5 cents less than the federal standard mileage rate and is updated every six months. Currently this is 45.5 cents per mile. Meals are reimbursed at $7 for breakfast, $10 for lunch, and $15 for dinner and requires an overnight stay. An overnight stay is only allowed if the travel exceeds 60 miles. Refreshments are normally not provided at meetings. If refreshments are provided, a resolution for that specific meeting or type of meeting must be adopted which states that the purchase of refreshments is for a proper public purpose and limits the amount to be expended on these items.
