Hi Mindy, For fingerprinting we use equipment housed at JFS and the sheriff's office as appropriate. We contact other public entities to find out about any discipline, attendance, evaluation, and any other relevant information. We also contact private employers as appropriate. Depending on the position, we may also look at a candidate's public social media presence. When we do that, we make sure that the person looking at social media is not the decision maker and they do not share any information that pertains to the person being in any protected class or anything else that we would not want to know so we cannot be accused of being discriminatory. Good luck! If so, what company did you purchase your equipment from? Have you noticed a benefit from not utilizing an outside source? Also, is anyone utilizing any of the following in their background checks for employment candidates: · Social Media inquiries · Public records request for personnel files from previous employers · Authorization to release personnel files from previous private sector employers Thank You!
