Portage County will make the injured worker whole (regarding wages) on the date of the injury. Once an employee has returned to work (TWP or full duty) subsequent medical appointments are encouraged to be scheduled around the work shift. We will not deny time off for treatment; however, the form of payroll reimbursement is at the discretion of the injured worker (sick leave, personal leave, vacation or LWOP)... Although it remains a potential option - I've not had an injured worker file for wage loss based upon attending medical appointments. Have a great weekend! Licking County pays for lost time on the date of the injury but requires employees to use sick or flex time for subsequent Dr. appointments. Thank you.
