In 2021, the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center received a record number of complaints: 847,376 reported complaints, which was a 7% increase from 2020, with potential losses exceeding $6.9 billion.[1] During the first six months of 2021, there were more ransomware attack attempts on government than any other industry, and three times the number of attacks seen in 2020.[2] Phishing[3] was the most reported form of cyber attack in 2021 which increased by 74.6% from 2020. The good news is that CORSA is here again this year to assist with your cybersecurity needs. Take Advantage of CORSA's Offerings as Part of Your Overall Cybersecurity Program: CORSA is committed to providing ongoing risk management services, including cybersecurity, to members. In 2022 CORSA allotted $400,000 ($5,000 per member maximum 25% increase over 2021) for members to select one of the following options: I. Vulnerability Assessments; II. Anti-Phishing Software reimbursement up to $5,000; or preapproved IT reimbursement grant up to $5,000. (CORSA Cybersecurity Grant Application Attached). CORSA will reimburse up to $5,000 for a project, program, or acquisition designed to mitigate or eliminate cyber/computer property/causality risk including, but not limited to: firewall upgrade; dual factor authentication; hardware upgrade; email upgrade; GPS vehicle monitoring; positive pay; select IT certifications for inhouse IT personnel.
