We are reviewing our Inclement Weather Policy and would like feedback from other counties on how employees are compensated when the decision is made to close offices either for the day or early due to inclement weather. Muskingum County's policy currently indicates that for Level 1 and 2 Emergencies, offices will remain open and employees are expected to report to work. If an employee doesn't report to work, they will use vacation, personal, or compensatory time or take the day/time as unpaid. Level 3 Emergencies the offices are closed and employees will be paid. On January 12th, some of our county offices closed early due to the anticipated weather conditions but we were not under any Level Emergencies at the time of closure. Commissioners made the decision to pay employees for the time that they would have been scheduled to work had the office not closed. I would appreciate feedback and/or copies of policies to review. Thanks everyone! Pam Davis Muskingum County Human Resources County Courthouse 401 Main Street Zanesville, OH 43701 Phone: 740-588-4371
