Another question regarding vacation accrual. If your county hires someone that has prior service credit (ie: 5 years), do you allow them to take vacation within the first year or do you make the employee wait until they have been employed within your department for 1 year?

Wyandot County uses the ORC to determine the accrual rates. A new employee does not accrue, therefor has no vacation until they meet the first year mark.

We are looking at alternate vacation leave policies. Do any counties offer a vacation leave that differs from what is provided in ORC?
Also, does any county allow their employees to accrue and used accrued vacation leave prior to the completion of their first year of employment?
