Muskingum County Sheriff deputies provide security at our Fair. The deputies sign up for opening as “special duty” and are paid directly by the Fair Board.
*Vacation Payouts* – Muskingum County only processes vacation payouts when an employee leaves/retires from employment. The payout is typically processed with the employee’s final paycheck.

Security for Fair – Warren County has a contract with the Fair Board for security for the annual fair. The Fair Board pays the cost and seeks reimbursement from the County from the general fund. Security is supplied by employed deputies of the County.
Vacation Payouts – Warren County *only *processes vacation payouts when an employee leaves employment. These are done within 30 days of the person leaving employment. We do have a separate line item for Vacation Payouts.

Does your Board pay for the security at the fair? Do you pay deputies directly from a general fund budget or do you pay the fair Board? Is your security provided by associate deputies that are part of a 501 3c? If so, is this ran through the general fund budget?
For those of you who do vacation payouts, do you only do it once a year? What procedure do employees need to follow to apply for this? Is this verified through the Commissioner’s Office? Do you have a separate line item to account for this?
