All: Fairfield County appointed a committee to address employee appreciation, recruitment and retention in 2018. The Commissioners adopted the recommendations of the committee which include provisions for an additional personal day, higher merit pay, and other recommendations based upon the use of a countywide performance appraisal tool and compensation plan. An employee must exceed standards during their yearly performance appraisal to be eligible for certain recognition. Appointing authorities must also use the approved performance appraisal tool during evaluations and join the countywide compensation plan to be eligible for the county merit pay program. So far, all elected officials have adopted the recommendations unless they have contracts in place which replace or better a particular recommendation. Attached is the committee recommendation report. Thanks much, Jeff Jeffrey D. Porter Fairfield County Director of Human Resources and Risk Management 210 E.
