Cybercrimes Continue to Increase
Recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) has released its latest annual report. The 2024 Report combines information from 859,532 complaints of suspected internet crime and details reported losses exceeding $16 billion-a 33% increase in losses from 2023. While the number of claims has fluctuated over the last five years, costs continue to increase at an accelerated rate as illustrated by the chart below. The full report may be found at: https://www.ic3.gov/AnnualReport/Reports/2024_IC3Report.pdf. Now, more than ever, it is important to assess and enhance your cybersecurity measures.
