The forecast over the holiday is for the potential of very low temperatures, high winds and possibly heavy snow. Since counties have extended time off over the holiday period CORSA recommends members take precautions: Prior to the event: * Make sure that all items that can be blown around by high winds are secured. * All piping that may be exposed to the extreme cold are covered/insulated against freezing. * Snow removal equipment and supplies are in place and ready. After/during the event: * Immediately check building interiors for bust pipes. * Check exterior areas for wind damage and exterior burst pipes. Because this storm will happen over the holidays when buildings may not be occupied CORSA strongly recommends the members have someone inspect the building interiors as soon as the event ends rather than waiting until employees normally return to work. The loss caused by a burst pipe that runs for an extended period before it is discovered can cause very high losses.
