Hello, Lorain County would like recommendations on Alternative Civilian/Active Shooter training. Our local Sheriff's Department has presented the training in a lecture series; but I have been asked to find out what other Counties are doing for training. Are you using lectures, videos, live simulated training or the ALICE training? Your feedback will be greatly appreciate. In Erie County, we have been using a "Run, Hide, Fight" video at new employee orientation. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office has provided A.L.I.C.E. training to departments upon request. Because the JFS department was considered to possibly be at greater risk for an active shooter (or we say active killer) situation, the Sheriff also provided a series of scenarios for drills to exercise our response plans. Washington County Sheriff's Office trains utilizing the A.L.I.C.E. protocol. They lecture then conduct the live simulated drill. Once this is completed they debrief on what happened. *Kathy Thieman* *Washington County* *Director of Human Resources, Safety & Loss Control* 223 Putnam Street Marietta, OH 45750 740-373-6623 ext. 2015 740-374-7693 Fax kthieman@wcgov.org On Thu, Mar 29, 2018 at 9:45 AM, Jonette Jackson <Jjackson@loraincounty.us> wrote:
