Butler County has courthouse security in courthouses but not at front doors of multi-use buildings, security is at the doors to the courts in multi-use buildings, not the doors to a multi-use building. Only exception is the Children Services offices, a single purpose building, where security is at doors. Our building in which Auditor and Recorder and water and sewer agency are located has no security feature. Gary Sheets Asst. The Commissioners are housed in the Courthouse with all the court office, recorder, treasurer, auditor, extension, law library, microfilm, tax map, and Board of Elections. We do not have any door security. However, our new JFS building does, as well as the jail. No other departments have anything. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Emily Marth" <emilymarth@co.knox.oh.us> To: <corsa-broadcast@corsa.org> Sent: Monday, April 21, 2014 11:20 AM Subject: [CORSA-broadcast] building security

Good Morning, We have a combined county offices/municipal court building which houses the following county offices: commissioners, personnel, probate court, prosecutor, public defender and title department. The municipal court clerk and municipal court judges are also in our building. We have equipment to scan packages and purses operated by municipal court bailiff personnel at the front door. In the common pleas courthouse and juvenile court buildings and the basement of one of our buildings that houses magistrates, sheriff's deputies operate the scanning equipment. Some other buildings or parts of buildings have security cameras, some have limited access to the building, etc. Thanks! Michelle Michelle R. Noble Director, Clark County Personnel 50 E. Hardin County's courthouse houses the county elected officials except for the Sheriff and Engineer. The courthouse has three entrances that are unlocked M-F during normal business hours, and a Sheriff's Deputy is normally present for security purposes. Our newer, nearby courthouse annex building houses JFS, CSEA, and the Health Dept. and each individual office area has locked entrance doors whereby visitors/clients must be allowed in. -----Original Message----- From: CORSA-broadcast [mailto:corsa-broadcast-bounces@corsa.org] On Behalf Of Emily Marth Sent: Monday, April 21, 2014 11:21 AM To: corsa-broadcast@corsa.org Subject: [CORSA-broadcast] building security The Knox County Board of Commissioners is interested in knowing how many CORSA counties have implemented full security measures in their buildings (specifically, what measures have been taken; what other offices are housed in the building with the Commissioners; etc). In Belmont County, everyone comes through the front door of the building and goes through the x-ray machine. The deputies there also have metal detector wands. We have security cameras inside and outside the building. There is card scanner access to the Auditor's office which is right inside the front door of the courthouse. Several offices have panic buttons also. Commissioners, Engineer, Auditor, Treasurer, Juvenile/Probate Court, Recorder, Law Library, Clk of Courts, and Common Pleas Court are all located in our courthouse. Huron County has armed deputies at the Courthouse as well as an xray machine and walk-through scanner. The Administration Building can only be accessed after hours with a card. That building houses the Commissioners, General Health District, Board of Elections, and OSU Extension. The Sheriff's Office and Jail have onsite security and entrance is only gained through escorts. Alas, other buildings are pretty vulnerable, though they are, of course, locked at night. JFS has security measures in place with limited access to offices and employees. The Prosecutor's Office can be accessed only if buzzed in; same with Adult Probation. Hope this helps. Sue On Mon, Apr 21, 2014 at 11:20 AM, Emily Marth <emilymarth@co.knox.oh.us>wrote:

The three main buildings in Trumbull are the Courthouse, the Admin Building and ODJFS. The Courthouse has a full security detail with deputies and x-ray machine. Our JFS building also has full security, minus the x-ray machine. The Administration Building, which houses the Commissioners, Prosecutor's, Treasurer, Auditor, Clerk of Courts and Recorder's, has a Deputy stationed on the first floor, and in the near future we will be getting x-ray equipment for the entrance.
