I'm looking for a resolution in regard to Workers' Comp chargebacks. We want to do 50% the first year and then go to a 100% allocation of the cost to the various offices on the basis of their exposure and claims experience. Anyone have a sample to share? Gail Crossen, Clerk Ashland County Commissioners
Our TPA calculates that for us. Are you with CompManagement? I know they do it for the counties in the CCAO Group. We're Individual Retro, but we do chargebacks. Previously we were with CareWorks and they always did these calculations for us with payroll numbers we gave them for each dept. It's my understanding that workers' compensation charges are appropriate billable expenses. Not sure a resolution is absolutely necessary. Don't have where Mahoning County ever did a resolution to charge back. We do not have a TPA here at Mahoning. I do all of the claims management, budgeting and reserve calculations. And we charge back to every payroll code in the County.
