Part 2 - National Transportation Safety Board Report - Most Wanted Transportation Safety Improvements List 2016 - FATIGUE-RELATED ACCIDENTS
Here is a 2nd item from The National Transportation Safety Board's "Most Wanted Transportation Safety Improvements List 2016". The attached section of the report documents another of the most dangerous driving behaviors - FATIGUE-RELATED ACCIDENTS. According to the NTSB "Human fatigue is both a symptom of poor sleep and health management, and an enabler of other impairments, such as poor judgment and decision making, slowed reaction times, and loss of situational awareness and control. Fatigue degrades a person's ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive to the demands of controlling their vehicle safely. To make matters worse, fatigue actually impairs our ability to judge just how fatigued we really are." CORSA members have access to a variety of driver training benefits that help mitigate the risk posed this dangerous behavior. CORSA Live training at your location includes the recently updated National Safety Council DDC-4 course and specialty live training for CORSA members' CDL drivers. CORSA University (See attached) offers several computer based drive training options for our members including: * Advanced Defensive Driving Techniques * Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety * Defensive Driving Basics * Distracted Driving for Local Government Please contact CORSA if you would like to schedule live training or have any additional questions.
