Seneca County has hit a 27th pay period for 2015, the last time an extra pay period to hit our county was in 2004. There seems to be some disagreement on how to handle this pay. How do counties handle the 27th pay periods? For elected officials, salary employees, and hourly employees? Thank you in advance for your assistance. It was unanimous with our Elected Officials and Department Heads that all salary and hour staff would receive a full additional pay. Elected Officials themselves may not receive more than their salary as provided for in the ORC. (Therefor they receive a smaller check each pay.) We gave them all enough advance notice through the budget process to budget accordingly.
