Richland County has two *investigators* who take calls for the coroner, and we contract with someone to pick up bodies and transport them. One of our investigators is paid $34/hour and works 40 hours per week. The other is paid $22.98/hour and works 32 hours per week. Up until the end of December 2016 Medina County had 5 deputy coroners who were paid $180 per pay to be on call for 48 hours during the two week pay period. Currently the County does not have any deputy coroners on payroll. We have three investigators that get paid $50/shift. I am not sure how many shifts they do a month, but if the coroner needs something extra (he recently bought a new camera bundle), he will work more shifts to cover the cost. Here's the information from the Coroner's Office: Hello. We have a Chief Deputy Coroner who is also our Pathologist. We have 3 Deputy Coroners. All of the Deputy Coroners are doctors. They are paid an hourly rate based on a 40-hour work week. The pay amounts for these 3 Deputy Coroners: 1 @ $13.50; 2 @ $12.50 I hope this helps you. Dawn L.
