Muskingum County covers all full-time employees (30+ hours/week) with a $25,000 group term and AD&D policy. The County covers the full cost of the coverage. Employees do have the opportunity to purchase Voluntary Life on themselves, spouse, and dependents up to the age of 26. Employees pay the full cost of Voluntary Life through payroll deductions. In Clinton, we pay for a $50,000 group term policy for all full-time benefit-eligible employees. If they choose to elect supplemental coverage, they may do so at their expense, the county does not contribute to this. There are age reductions that apply on the group term. Delaware County offers full time employees life insurance that is equal to one times their annual salary up to a maximum of $125,000. Anything over $50,000 is considered a taxable fringe benefit. We also offer voluntary guaranteed issue life through Voya and whole life through Colonial that builds cash value. Voya has supplemental coverage for the employee, the employee’s spouse and children.
