Good afternoon, We are looking for information on how each County handles the position/duties for the 911 Coordinator, including: - Is the 911 Coordinator a full-time position? If not, how many hours per week is assigned for 911 duties? - If not an independent/separate position, who/what position and department is assigned the 911 Coordinator duties? - If the 911 Coordinator duties are assigned to another position/department, are separate payroll records and leave accrual balances maintained for the hours specific to 911 duties? Currently at Muskingum County, the EMA Director has 10 hours per week assigned as the 911/Communications Coordinator position duties and we maintain separate payroll and leave accrual balances under the Commissioners. Medina County Commissioners are looking to consolidate it's IT department and I was wondering if other County's have a centralized IT function. If you have a centralized IT function, what falls under their authority, what are their responsibilities, and what services are provided. What role if any does the Auditor play? How do they interact with the Data Board? -- Scott Miller, CPA Medina County Administrator Phone 330-722-9201 Fax 330-722-9206
Scott, Madison County created a centralized GIS & IT Department about 14 years ago and it falls under the Commissioners authority. Regarding day-to-day IT operations, the department focuses on maintenance of the county backbone, countywide Wireless Wide Area Network, Network Security, E-mail and Intranet / Internet services, hardware and software acquisition, installation and support, and SAN, Server, and PC administration and repairs.
